 NEWS - UPDATES

4/16/10 - After getting a consensus from the committee
and myself, I wrote an email to Leslie @ TICA
proclaiming that we would wait to petition the
board till the January 2011/Harlingen, Texas
meeting due to the fact that Texas will be much
easier for any/all of the committee to get to as
well as easier for a few other potential working
group members to bring their cats to. This
email to ask for a reply stating again that this
change of date will not create any peril or undue
consequence to our paperwork, TICA Trend
submissions, etc. As of yet, I have not received
                   any confirmation on that.

4/6/10 - Got a call from Leslie Bowers/TICA Executive
Office. Due to the May meeting being a
                 "Teleconferencing Meeting," the board asked
her to call all breed chairs who were planning
on petitioning some sort of advancement for
their breeds at that meeting - to encourage
them (and allow them) to move it to the next
board meeting (or later) at now peril. This
would allow  a face-to-face petition where
passion and breed display could be done.
After some discussion with Leslie, it was
revealed that a rule states that "a petitioning
breed group must wait at least a full year
after a denial before petitioning again." So,
though this had not been brought up prior, it
appeared as though we weren't even allowed
to petition the board at the May meeting. I
ask for time to consult the breed committee
about whether to choose the Fall/California
meeting or the January 2011/Texas meeting.

No feedback from any Rules & Genetic member.
Leslie@ Executive Office will leave application
as is. Leslie states that we are on the agenda.
No feedback yet from Leslie over what a
                   "teleconferencing board meeting" means to
our presentation. Initially we plan to present
a power point presentation.  Full plans
                   and details pending.

RE: LETTER OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR APPROVAL AS A PRELIMINARY NEW BREED

Dear Madam:

The Napoleon Members Breed Section would like to request that an application for approval as a Preliminary New Breed be accepted and added to the agenda for the TICA Board Meeting to be held in.

May 2010.

We intend to show that the breed meets the requirements as listed in the TICA Registration Rules Section 33.6

Please accept this letter, application, and attachments as our preliminary contact 120 days prior to the TICA Annual Board Meeting. Our advertisement to be placed in the TICA Trend was requested on October 14, 2009 (see Attachment (B). Our money order in the amount of $50 was placed in the mail to your office today (see Attachment (C).

It is my understanding that receipt of the money order will generate a copy of the Daily Activity Report to be sent to me. I will include a copy of that report with our Application Packet.

If you have any questions or suggestions please contact me on my cell phone number at 423-400-6812. Thank you for your timely consideration of this matter.
